Lunch With The Do-Nothing's at the Tammy Dinette
Lunch With the do Nothings at the Tammy Dinette
By : Killian B. Brewer
This Ebook was sent to me by the lovely people over at Interlude Press.
Eager to receive a copy once i read the brief summary of the book on NetGalley.com.
I felt overjoyed and Excited when i was approved to read this book!
Im a new "BookTuber" and the fact that a publisher is willing give me content to read simply for the purpose of giving my thoughts and opinions is still unbelievable to me.
Truly Im so grateful.
Now putting all that aside....I want to give honest thoughts on the book that was categorized as LGBTQIA / Humor.
Its a pleasure of mine to tell you those two tags are definitely correct when describing this book, its absolutely a laugh out loud, queer tale. however this book is filled with so much heart...And Soul. Its a wonderful story about finding family, and what makes a place home.
My top two thoughts about this book are that I LOVE that this is not a coming out story.
I was so happy that Marcus was confident in his sexuality and was happy to come out right when showing up to a new town.
Im starting to get sick of reading out of the closet stories that seem to be everywhere lately. I can appreciate those stories, but it was SO refreshing to read a different type of tale one that explored other topics.
The second thing that stands out to me is the relationship between Marcus and Hank. It was so beautifully written. The book truly had me smiling the entire time. I was extremely turned on reading this romance grow, and the writer never had to write anything blue. Just two southern boys falling in love.
This was the perfect summer read, and I almost regret not reading it earlier in the summer. If i would have heard of it sooner it would have been at the top of my TBR.
The Do-Nothing's were a bit of mystery.....
When I first read the description of the book on NetGalley I wasn't sure who exactly the Do- Nothings were.
Could they be a group of teens who's parents told them to "do something" constantly ?
Or perhaps college graduates who had nothing to do after graduating and not finding jobs?
Well Again Its also my pleasure to tell you that the infamous Do-Nothings, are the most hysterical/ lovely group of southern ladies. They will keep you laughing the entire book.
This is some literal roll on the floor dialogue.
I have never heard such genius southern wisdom.
These ladies will steal your heart from the moment you first meet them.
At the end of devouring this book, because it was truly a binge kind of book
you don't want to put down. It gives you all the feels, and I am not just saying that because it was a free E-book.
Im actually considering purchasing a copy of the physical book to ad to my personal library.
If you would like to grab a copy of this wonderful book ( which honestly I can say is so worth your time) you can get it ->>>> HERE!
ALSO ....... I will absolutely be getting my hands on Killian's other book "The Rules of Ever After" which you can also grab ->>> HERE!
